Netsky.b@MM
Virus Latest
Another mass-mailing worm called W32/Netsky.b@MM
was discovered recently by the McAfee Security Anti-Virus Emergency
Response Team (AVERT).
The virus spreads through computer users' e-mail and mapped (shared)
drives in Windows operating systems.
After a computer is infected, Netsky.B sends itself to e-mail addresses
found on the infected computer. It also duplicates itself throughout
the infected system.
Network Associates recommends that, "If you think that you
may be infected with Netsky, and are unsure how to check your system,
you may download the Stinger
tool to scan your system and remove the virus if present."
If you are not running up-to-date antivirus protection or if, unbelievably,
you have no protection, see
This
is already affecting a high proportion of home users.
If you don't have an up-to-date Firewall/Antivirus suite,
try

including Spam protection and Parental Control.
