antispam scam spam
A Russian company (individual) spamming
out fraudulent anti-spam services (no, really!) and collecting credit
card details and payments for the privilege. If you add your details,
they'll probably be sold for the purposes of more junk mail. It
is also impossible to remove yourself from illegitimate spam lists.
This is hosted by Yahoo (at time of writing)
who are apparently aware of the situation and seemingly refuse to
take any action. We regularly get their anti-spam scam spam messages
without our permission and therefore have kindly reproduced one
without their permission opposite.
Most of these scams, frauds and spams are
aimed at people who can walk straight out of PC World with an internet
enabled PC but posess no knowledge/experience to speak of. Fraud
is indefencible; but the best solution is awareness and deep scepticism.
Feel free to pass this message on. As with all these messages, if
it's not from someone you know, it's spam. Perhaps you could also
take the matter up with Yahoo...
